Private Thoughts
I am so happy that I finally managed to transfer my blog page from 2007 to this new site.
Since my last entry in 2015 to Ipoh, nothing much has happened, except being busy in my postings and not being able to recover my old blog page...
Since fall last year, I am back to travelling and once again, blogging as i go along.
Let me explain:
For the last 27 years, since our first posting in Kinshasa, Congo to our last posting in Philippines in 2017, my dear husband always choose to spent the summer vacation back in Nieuwpoort beach, just some 5km from his mother's home. Understandably, with an aging mother and only other surviving sister, his priority was always home.
Dutifully, I would accompany him on these home trips but I was getting tired of the same place each year. So I started insisting on short city trips, to see beyond Belgium and to keep me from nagging, he would consent. But just 3 to 5 days maximum !
But God is good and I believe if you have a heart for him, He will "perfect all things concerning you.." Psalm 138:8.
Just before reaching his mandatory retirement age in October 2017, my husband was selected out of a bunch of retiring ambassadors to head the Inspection of embassies and consulates worldwide. This is a position many diplomats would dream of, but not everyone can excel in it. My husband has the perfect temperament, experience, skills and reputation to handle such a job.
This new assignment changed our retirement plans 180 degrees.
I had just started a manpower company in Singapore in 2016, thinking to run it when my husband retires. With his new position, he is based in Belgium and it seem inconceivable that I should live apart in Singapore. Then, who in her right mind would give up the chance of a lifetime to travel to so many cities?
Hence, I am convinced that this is God rigged. He is causing me to see beyond Belgium.
How great is that? He never fails to deliver, in His time, over and above what we ask/ yearn for.
Eph 3:20: Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. "
